What is a quality factor?

The connection you use, from the KPn central to the Internet is shared among users. The number of users you might share that connection with is called the 'Quality factor'

BizzOnWeb has the following Quality factord available: Q1 (1 : 1), Q4 (1 : 4), Q10 (1 : 10), Q20 (1 : 20), Q25 (1 : 25), QBit Bitstream (1 : 20 Bitstream), en Best Effort.

With the Economy ADSL lines from KPN the Quality factor is 1:40, which means that the guaranteed speed can be significantly lower. With a Quality factor of 1:10, the maximum number of users you will share you speeds with is 10. The speed of a 1024 Kb/s line will therefore be somewhere in between 102, Kb/s and 1024 Kb/s.

As you can tell, the importance of the guaranteed speed is should determine the choice of the Quality factor.
